Sons of Beans
Jacks sons
Once upon a time, many moons ago, Jack was faced with a troubling situation where he reached a crossroad having to give in to the circumstances that he and his mother found themselves in, or trade his family cow, which represents the last of their wealth, for magical beans believing that it would lead to great opportunity. Despite the odds being against Jack as well as the uncharted territory that came with a tough situation, Jack followed his intuition and drive to reach new heights.
As jack discovers that the beanstalk lead to opportunities, gifts and teachings which far exceeded his expectation, he was faced with one big obstacle - the mysterious giant! Having conquered the giant on his journey, he was able to return with the gifts from this journey and free his community from the difficult situation.
The story of Sons of Beans resonate with this fairy tale, with two brothers who identified the health and food crisis; the rapid increase of unemployment and businesses closing; and the lack of education around health. Something had to change and these two brothers decided to move against the tide of the difficult local and global pandemic.
Sons of Beans reach far beyond mere "fresh produce bootleggers". Sons of Beans aim to connect communities during a disconnected time; Sons of Beans aim to provide a fair platform for small scale farmers and local growers/manufacturers to provide households with high-quality goods at affordable rates; Sons of Beans aim to educate a nation about nutrition in a holistic "eat for your health, not your gut" interactive approach. Finally, Sons of Beans believe that hungry tummies need to be fed.
This is exactly what Sons of Beans stand for. All our products are healthier alternatives to mass produced items, all our produce is locally sourced from organic farmers and with the "1 on 1" campaign, Sons of Beans can help feed a community, one household at a time.
We are, Sons of Beans.
Tree-to-bar micro-batch chocolate, unlike many other chocolate and confectionery businesses, we do not buy bulk chocolate to make our creations. We are hands-on in every step of the product and process.
Our chocolate journey starts by working with the farmers in Panama. We assist them in the growing, fermenting and drying the cacao beans. The cocoa beans are sent by ship to our production facility in Cape Town.
Chocolate is personal for all of us. We know that feeling all too well, that moment when everything in life feels in balance, as the chocolate melts in your mouth.
As with many things, we think life is too short to eat bad chocolate and not to have more of these blissful feelings.
We set out to make the best possible chocolate and to have the maximum positive social impact while doing it.
We don't add any ingredients to change the flavor or color of the chocolate. We want to work with, and stay true to, what nature has given us. We want to keep the product clean and only use what is necessary.
